After working on my AJXXV entry, I realized life has kept me from
working on my craft as much as I'd like. Here's my night excercise in
shading and rendering on PS.

As for this post, I'm trying doubly hard to get out of this life rut,
and here's my current project...the AJXXV =)

It's good practice...

The shape may be simplistic but it's good practice for shading,
rendering and vector control skills.

A splash of color...

Inspired by the Focus Attacks in SFIV

They don't make enough white watches so I did this one up while
listening to NBR.

Unplugged...

Taking a break from sneakers to do work on a little something-
something. Sounds fun...pun intended.

A chauvinist idea...

This one hit me while I was just sitting on the couch watching Boston
Legal. Picture this...a figure with masculine characteristics (albeit
out of shape), but no face, so it could be any guy. Anyway, dude is
stark naked, except for a mailbox in place of his junk. A MALE
BOX...you know, how the females call theirs their 'box'? I could see
various figure types in various poses on shirts...maybe a vinyl
figure...Hmmmmmm

Wish me luck...

I'm about to mail out my submission for a competition to design a shoe
for Carlos Santana. Who knows, it may catch an eye or lead to
something else...

Dream shoe...

I would wear this every day, but that's just me.

First up tonight...

A shoe I'd like to call the adidas rebirth...made for tracy macgrady.

It seems everytime I find a way to render, I find another way right
after. Geez. Oh well, here's my offering for the beginning of the night.

Revision...

Redoing not only the portfolio layout, but a few of my shoes. Here's
my retake on the zoom cb so far...

So I'm going to replace that tired Zoom Soldier Image with this new
and revised one =)

After a little break...

I got around to finishing my LBJ redux...well, at least one view of
it...for now.

Blocking...

I'm going to go with this colorway instead...

After all those layers...

Turned off all the layers except foryhr shading and got this...

Booyeah!

No, just kidding...I have a long way to go before I can say that.
Let's just say I'm learning more and more every day.

Enough stalling...

Threw some tread on the sole...now it's time to start detailing this
sucker...see you in 30 minutes!

Survey says...

I may be on to a new technique...I'm going to to further and see if
it's worth it =)

A new approach...

I'm trying a new way to color and render...maybe it'll be faster,
maybe it won't...we'll see.

Revisions...

Tweaked my presto-inspired runner and added a sole view.

Texture....

Playing with and FINALLY got the hang of adding textures.

Shading...

After some basic color blocking it's time to add a touch of shadow

Working on that sole some more

A break from vector...

To explore other stuff...like the live paint feature in illustrator.

Branding...

It seems excessive but you gotta know what they are, yeah?

Practice...

Choose a random sketch and decided to work on my vector line work.

Finished my quick exploration into extra views...now to make it habit

Practicing the view...now if I could only figure out how to make that
herringbone tread pattern...

'never underestimate minimalism'

As told to me by a professional designer...so I'm practicing exactly
that with my shading.

Color-blocking.

3 views in an hour and a half...I think that's a little improvement =)

Working on techniques to cut down my vector line work.

I realized I tend to ignore the top and bottom view but I see it helps
in fleshing out forms.

Working on fleshing out the scribbles from yesterday =)

Chicken-scratch...

Just put the pen down, started scribbling, and got this...I think I'll
refine it later tonight.
